Geothermal Energy

Geothermal energy is an environmentally-friendly, renewable and an economical alternative to conventional fossil fuel sources, obtained by utilizing the heat from within the earth generated in the earth's core. This type of heat and its temperature varies depending on the location used to access this type of energy from beneath the earth's surface. It is brought to the surface providing thermal energy that can be rendered useful and used as a power source.

Geothermal energy can be used as a source for obtaining hot water, as an efficient home heating system with direct use on heating systems of residential, commercial and industrial buildings. It extracts the heat from within the Earth and it is transfered as needed by the building. It is also used for cooling purposes where the heat from the grown is extracted in winter, to support the building's heating system, and then transfers the heat from the building in summer, functioning as a cooling system.

Geothermal Energy

A system of geothermal energy use consists of:

bullet A geothermal pump which uses the Earth's constant temperatures for heating and cooling buildings.
bullet An exchanger buried on the ground from which the liguid solution experiences the exchange of heat.
bullet

The hydraulic pump which allows for the flow of the liquid solution.

The studies performed with these tympes of systems indicate that the use of geothermal energy can cover up to 70% of the energy needs of a building or home.
